What could have been, has been, and what will be …

What could have been, what has been, and what will be, are all in the hands of Jehovah God: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Whatever has happened in our past, God knows and believes in us. He has a purpose for us! Our God is omniscient, which means He is all-knowing, all-wise, all-seeing; simply put, having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding of all things!

Our entire vocabulary cannot clearly describe, explain or understand His omniscience: 2 Peter 3:8 puts it this way: But, beloved, do not be ignorant of this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8). He sees our yesterday, today, and tomorrow at the same time. Therefore, let us embrace the words of Isaiah 43:18-19: Do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old. See, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not be aware of it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Let the words of the Prophet Isaiah give us hope of a great future irrespective of what has happened in our past. We shall not fret over the current situation. All things are subject to change! Only Jehovah God is constant and unchanging; therefore, our trust in Him is sure. He is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever (Hebrews 13:8). That is why He alone deserves our praise and worship. Christ is risen! Hallelujah!
